School Field Trips

Wishing Star Farm, located near Colorado Springs in Ellicott, offers various educational and fun activities for school field trips. Teachers looking for an interactive and engaging experience for their students will find plenty to enjoy at the farm. One of the key attractions is the farm’s extensive petting zoo, the one of the largest in El Paso County. Students can meet a variety of farm animals up close, including goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas, ponies, donkeys and pigs, providing a hands-on learning experience about animal care and farm life.

Beyond the petting zoo, the farm offers activities perfect for school groups, such as pony rides, hayrides, and train rides. These are not only enjoyable but also provide opportunities for learning about transportation on farms and the historical uses of these methods. The farm also features unique attractions like a jumping pillow, duck races, tire swings, and a corn bin, ensuring there's something for students of all ages to enjoy. Each student will leave the farm with a small pumpkin to take home, extending the experience beyond the day spent at the farm.

Wishing Star Farm - A Tradition for your School or Group

Designated Lunch Area

The farm has a variety of areas to have lunch from picnic table areas, to a large turf area for picnic on the ground, to bleachers, and our three-sided shed approximately (60’ x 16’) in the central area is included at lunch time. It has a great location next to a jump pad and petting zoo, with a large fire pit. Additionally, there is electricity and picnic tables under cover.

Come and make Memories

Your students will have plenty of opportunity to learn about the animals as they are petting them, but there is much more fun to have around the farm with many memorable activities your kids will talk about for years to come. They will get to bring some of that experience home with them when they choose a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch.
